Welcome to the NEW Bonnie's Baskets website!
I am excited to have a website up and running again. If you have any questions about any upcoming classes or basket weaving supplies, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I am on the road a lot teaching and vending at many weaving events, so my shop is open by appointment or during class, open weaves and Basket Art Guild events.
Like many basket teachers, weaving started out as a hobby for me and quickly grew into my passion! Most of my baskets are hand shaped with a woven base. I truly enjoy designing new patterns. That being said, my kit inventory changes frequently.
Classes are designed for 14 years old and up. Baskets are made of reed – natural, dyed and smoked. Sometimes we will work in various fibers, such as sea grass – just depends on the project! You will leave with your basket unstained. Staining techniques will be discussed in class as well as caring for your new creation. Basket weaving can be a little messy so don’t wear your Sunday best. I provide all tools needed for class and even have aprons to wear available if you desire. For most projects allow at least four hours to complete it. If for some reason you can’t make it to class or open weave, PLEASE let me know. At times there is a waiting list!
Want to schedule a private class for you and your friends or family? Just let me know and we can work out the details. Weaving is a great way to spend time with family and friends to connect on a different level and learn a new skill and most importantly, have fun! You will leave class with a beautiful basket. And possibly catch the “basket bug”. Hope to see you soon!
