The Buckeye Tote – Heart

The “Buckeye Tote” starts with a slotted wood base. Techniques include twining, start/stop weaving, double lashing with three colors and the use of leather handles.  The accent colors are gray, black, charcoal and red.

This basket is one in a series of State Totes that started with Illinois – the Pride of the Prairie Tote.

The original “Buckeye Tote” was designed for the state of Ohio.  The Ohio tote has an embellishment in the shape of Ohio designed by Illinois artist Mikayla Murry.
